VietCharm Culture & Dining Show
Where Heritage Meets The Senses

Launching during Lunar New Year 2026 at the historic Independence Palace, VietCharm Culture & Dining Show redefines cultural entertainment in Vietnam. Seamlessly blending performing arts with refined fusion gastronomy, this pioneering multi-sensory production offers an unprecedented journey through the country’s rich heritage.

At a time when audiences no longer settle for passive observation, VietCharm introduces a new cultural language, one that invites participation through the senses. Conceived as Vietnam’s first fully integrated culture-and-dining performance, the show transforms the Independence Palace grounds into a living stage where history, artistry, and gastronomy unfold as one continuous narrative.

Rather than presenting culture as something static, VietCharm treats heritage as movement. Under the direction of Nguyễn Hữu Thanh, with original music by Vũ Quốc Việt, choreography by Quang Đăng, and culinary direction by Master Chef Huỳnh Phi Nam Phong, the production brings together leading creative voices across disciplines. The result feels less like a conventional performance and more like a carefully composed environment.

The journey begins with a one-hour welcome, during which guests may dress in traditional royal or regional attire before the main performance begins. What follows is a 100-minute spectacle of nine live acts interwoven with an eight-course dining journey, each moment calibrated so that what unfolds on stage resonates with what arrives at the table.

Architecturally, the setting draws on the Eastern philosophy of Round Sky – Square Earth. A square auditorium anchors the audience, while a 360-degree rotating central stage introduces continuous movement, allowing each scene to unfold panoramically. The effect is immersive and fluid, with no single viewpoint ever feeling fixed.

Sound and movement deepen this sensory landscape. Traditional instruments, including đàn tranh, t’rưng, flute, nhị, and ceremonial drums, are reimagined through contemporary arrangements, creating a soundscape that feels both ancestral and immediate. The performance language moves between folk expression, contemporary dance, royal court music, and spiritual forms such as Chầu Văn.

The culinary narrative mirrors this journey with striking clarity. Sacred Lotus Origins is paired with a trio of lotus-based appetizers, while The Spirit of Âu Lạc arrives alongside an Imperial Hanoi-style beef phở. And then, Celestial Coconut Shrimp accompanies Soulful Strings of Vietnam, and The Phoenix Palace Imperial Soup reflects the refinement of royal court culture. The experience closes on a gentler note with The Bloom of Happiness, a dessert of lotus seed and longan, bringing the evening to its finale.

Set within one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most resonant historic landmarks, VietCharm merges heritage atmosphere with contemporary staging. With ticket prices ranging from VND 1.6 to 1.8 million, it is positioned as a premium cultural attraction for international visitors, affluent local audiences, and special-occasion guests alike.

VietCharm is more than a dinner show and more than a theatrical performance. It is a contemporary expression of Vietnamese identity designed to be seen, tasted, and felt.
