Long-standing Peranakan restaurant Blue Ginger has opened its second outlet in the recently revamped Great World City. The inviting space, adorned with traditional details and modern comforts, continues to serve up the brand’s classic, yet modern dishes. Based on proprietary family recipes, the new dishes at the outlet include the Kerabu Kacang Botol ($11.50) and Kerabu Timun ($8.50) salads; the former mixes wing beans with aromatic dried shrimp and coconut, while the latter pairs belacan with chicken gizzards. Rempah-based dishes are another claim to fame, of which the Pork Ribs Assam ($20) impresses. Tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs are braised in tangy sweet-spicy gravy, perfect as a complement to steamy rice. The outlet also offers one-dish rice and noodles ($15) for quick lunches, including staples such as Laksa, Nonya Noodles, and Buah Keluak Fried Rice.
