If you’re anxious that you’ve already missed out on Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel’s World of Beef culinary special featuring the Tajima Wagyu beef, do not worry. Due to popular demand, the hotel has just extended this programme until the end of September 2024.
The Tajima Wagyu is considered the finest Japanese Wagyu bred across New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. Thanks to the environment where they are being raised and fed, this particular Wagyu beef is particularly loved for its exquisite marbling and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The silky texture, combined with a subtle sweetness, makes for a unique flavour.
The cooler and more temperate climate in these three areas are the best environment to breed the cattle. They are being fed grass on these cool areas until they weigh approximately 350 to 400 kilograms. Afterward, they would be brought to an exclusive cattle feeding operation where they would be fed corn silage, hay and cereals, all of which are grown on the farm. The farms employ dedicated nutritionists to ensure that all the cattle’s nutritional needs are being met. This is the secret behind the beef’s exquisite taste.
Executive chef Ferdian Tobing and his team came grill the beef with pepper and salt in order to retain and accentuate the original and distinctive flavour of the beef itself.
This event was launched in July and originally lasted only until August as a follow-up to the hotel’s highly successful World of Beef special last year, which featured the Hanwoo Wagyu beef from South Korea. Due to the high popularity of the World of Beef programme, the hotel will bring top-tier beef selections from the United States and Australia later this year.
The beef specialty is exclusively available on Sunday nights from 6pm to 10pm at the hotel’s signature Anigré restaurant’s buffet section. The package is priced at Rp1,074,480 nett per person.
