Fashion has long understood the power of atmosphere. Today, that atmosphere no longer ends at the runway, the table, or the artfully plated dessert. With the appointment of Remy Savage as its own mixologist, Prada has taken a bold step into a new language of luxury, one where couture, philosophy, design, and cocktails meet in a single glass.

Savage is no ordinary bartender. Known for A Bar with Shapes for a Name in East London, Bar Nouveau in Paris, and Bar Abstract in Lyon, he has built a world where drinks are cerebral yet playful, minimal yet emotionally charged. His bars may be small in scale, but their influence is global, shaped by sharp design, artistic collaboration, and a quietly rebellious spirit.

For Prada, this makes him an unexpectedly perfect match. Though Savage does not describe himself as a fashion figure, his creative vocabulary feels deeply aligned with the house’s intellectual edge. Like Miuccia Prada’s work, his cocktails explore functionalism, tension, and beauty without losing their sense of humanity.
His first major commission for the brand is the drinks list at Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai, Prada’s fine dining restaurant in Shanghai. Set within a restored 1918 mansion and created in collaboration with Wong Kar Wai, the space blends Chinese culture with Milanese elegance. Savage’s cocktails follow the same dialogue: a Negroni infused with magnolia, a Milano Torino aged in clay, an Sgroppino reimagined with Longshan yellow wine, and a Martini shaped by Chinese vodka, peony, and apricot eau de vie.

Here, a cocktail becomes more than refreshment. It is an object of design, a cultural gesture, and a sensory extension of the Prada universe. In Savage’s hands, the bar becomes another atelier, where flavour is cut, balanced, and composed with couture precision.
