Located in the heart of Patong Beach, Churrasco Phuket brings the bold flavours of Latin America to life with its affordable steaks. Combining exceptional quality with a warm, personal touch, it is now one of Phuket's most popular carnivore destinations.
They say the best ideas are born in bars, and the founders of Phuket's first South American steakhouse are living proof. Long-time residents of Thailand’s top holiday island, these two close friends and food lovers found themselves unimpressed with the quality and steep prices of steaks on offer. After a boys' dinner at what was then considered Phuket’s finest steakhouse in 2011, they paid the hefty bill, and then headed to a bar...
The rest is culinary history. In January 2012, Churrasco Phuket Steakhouse opened its doors at a prime spot in Jungceylon, Patong Beach’s busiest shopping centre. The founders, friends for over 40 years, share a deep love for Latin American culture and cuisine, having lived there at different times and in different places. Their particular passion? The vibrant steak traditions of Argentina and Brazil.
But instead of going down the “all-you-can-eat” Brazilian BBQ route, they chose a more intimate, à la carte dining experience. The result is a steakhouse that has not only survived the challenges of the pandemic and an 18-month closure for renovations, but has also built an impressive international fanbase. Visitors from over 100 countries have left glowing reviews on platforms like Tripadvisor, Google, and Facebook, praising both the affordable Wagyu and Black Angus steaks and the warm, personalised service.
Operating the restaurant comes naturally to the two owners. One is a seasoned hotelier with decades of hands-on experience in some of the world’s top hotels, while the other is a former media entrepreneur and events organiser. Now semi-retired, they have the time and passion to oversee every detail of their unique steakhouse—their sole business venture.
The menu offers a diverse selection, designed to satisfy serious meat lovers. Classic cuts like Tenderloin, Rib Eye, Sirloin, Skirt Steak, and Oyster Blade are served with a variety of sauces and sides. However, the true stars of the show are the three authentic Brazilian and Argentinian-style Wagyu beef cuts: the Picanha (D-rump cap), Solomillo (top tender cut), and Maminha (rump tip). These grain-fed Wagyu steaks are imported, available in various sizes, and char-grilled to guest specification.
Quality is paramount at Churrasco. All beef is imported deep-chilled, never frozen, and wet-aged in-house for maximum flavour. Each steak is grilled to order and served with a smile—another hallmark of this carnivore haven. The restaurant is pork-free, and all meat is Halal-Certified, including the beef, lamb, and chicken. The menu also features lamb chops, mixed meat skewers, pasta, salads, seafood, and a few Thai dishes—naturally, all beef-based.
