Top Chef Vietnam 2026
Five Chefs, One Final Chapter

Epicure Vietnam

As Top Chef Vietnam 2026 approaches its grand finale, five chefs find themselves at a defining crossroads. Beyond technical mastery and competitive ambition, Episode 11 explores the evolution of culinary identity, the courage to embrace change and the unexpected sources of inspiration that shape a chef's journey towards excellence.

Five Culinary Voices, One Defining Moment

The journey to the Top Chef Vietnam 2026 finale has been as much about personal discovery as culinary achievement. For finalists Doan Nhat Phong, Khac Linh, Kha Nguyen, Thien Thanh and Camilla Bailey, the competition has challenged familiar instincts, sharpened creative perspectives and revealed the importance of understanding what truly defines their cooking.

For Doan Nhat Phong, a decade of professional experience has given way to an unexpected lesson in letting go. Once guided by perfectionism, he now recognises the value of adaptability and meaningful storytelling. His ambition is to develop contemporary Vietnamese cuisine that honours traditional craftsmanship while embracing modern techniques.

Khac Linh's return, following an early departure in 2023, carries a different significance. Rooted in the culinary heritage of Hue, his philosophy centres on preserving regional identity while venturing beyond familiar territory. The finale offers an opportunity to demonstrate how tradition can inspire innovation without losing its soul.

Kha Nguyen, meanwhile, has discovered that consistency alone cannot guarantee success. His challenge lies in balancing composure with spontaneity, while Thien Thanh hopes to bring Saigon's street food and vegetarian traditions into a more refined culinary conversation without diminishing their original character.

For Danish chef Camilla Bailey, the experience has deepened her understanding of Vietnamese gastronomy. Through studying regional recipes, seasonings and family traditions, she has developed an approach that celebrates local ingredients while introducing her own creative sensibility.

Discovering Inspiration Beyond the Kitchen

Ahead of the finale, Episode 11 takes the contestants beyond their familiar culinary environment, revealing how innovation and human connection can enrich the creative process.

At the SUNHOUSE manufacturing facility, the chefs explored the precision and technology behind contemporary kitchen appliances. Nhat Phong and Camilla subsequently translated these insights into approachable dishes, from grouper infused with galangal and turmeric to Vietnamese steamed banana cake with coconut milk.

A different expression of culinary purpose unfolded in Da Nang, as Khac Linh, Kha Nguyen and Thien Thanh joined the "Ngan Uoc Mo" Mid-Autumn community programme at Tay Giang Secondary School. Preparing dishes inspired by familiar flavours and family gatherings, the chefs rediscovered food's simplest yet most enduring quality, its ability to bring people together.

Together, these encounters offered a reminder that culinary creativity draws from far more than technical proficiency. It thrives through curiosity, cultural understanding and the relationships formed around a shared table. As five distinct culinary philosophies converge, the final challenge promises to reveal whose vision can turn personal conviction into an extraordinary expression of Vietnamese gastronomy.

The Top Chef Vietnam 2026 grand finale airs on 19 October 2026 at 9 PM on VTV3.
