On September 7, Capella Hanoi has been honorably selected in DestinAsian Magazine’s Luxe List 2021 for the Best New Hotels in Asia Pacific.
The Luxe List is an annual collection of the best new hotels and resorts in the Asia-Pacific region. Started in October 2004, it’s now a leading indicator of which new properties in the region merit the attention of discerning travelers. Each hotel is visited by DestinAsian roving (and masked) network of reporters and appraised on the strength of their design, service, location, and value. It’s been a tough 12 months for hotels in the region, but that didn’t prevent the debuts of a number of exceptional properties including Capella Hanoi.
Capella Hanoi has officially opened its doors, ushering in a new era of art and elegance in the heart of Vietnam’s vibrant capital city. Located just steps away from the iconic Hanoi Opera House, this beautiful boutique hotel has been dreamt up as a “petite auberge” – a rendezvous spot for the greatest opera singers, composers and artists of a glamorous bygone age.
Four statues holding up the ceiling are called carotids; a common theatre prop at the turn of the century and believed to have been on stage at one of the first productions held at the Hanoi Opera House.
Diva’s Lounge meanwhile, pays tribute to the leading ladies of the 1920s with bohemian cocktails and Opera Punches, accompanied by Diva’s Bar bites.
As you walk down the hallway to the signature restaurant, Backstage, you will be greeted by a dazzling mural of paparazzi on the hunt for off-duty performers.
All-day restaurant - Backstage presents a magnificent backdrop of vibrant murals and stunning costumes curated from opera’s greatest performances.
Expect bold renditions of Northern Vietnamese cuisine that pay respect to long-forgotten traditions and local seasonal produce while championing modern culinary techniques creating the perfect Hanoi hotel restaurant experience.
