When Creative Voices Cross Borders
Where Art Found a Place to Belong

Twelve nationalities. 120 artworks. Six exhibition rooms. 176 guests on Opening Night. Yet Vietnam Creative Awards 2026 was never defined by numbers alone. It was measured in encounters: strangers becoming friends, artists finding new audiences, conversations opening doors, and creative voices coming together to prove that imagination knows no borders at all.

There are moments that begin quietly as an idea and, somewhere along the journey, become something far greater than first imagined. For Vietnam Creative Awards 2026, that moment arrived on 18 September, when the doors of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum opened to the inaugural Creative Voices Beyond Borders Shortlist Exhibition presented from 18–25 September 2026. Across six rooms, 120 artworks representing 12 nationalities came together beneath one historic roof. Painting met photography, fashion conversed with craftsmanship, while sculpture, lacquer, jewellery, objects and design each spoke in a language of their own. Different cultures, different stories, different ways of seeing the world — and yet, somehow, they belonged together.

On Opening Night, 176 guests, diplomats, artists, collectors, creatives, cultural figures, business leaders, partners and friends, moved through the galleries. But what remains is not simply how many people came; it is what happened when they arrived. Artists shared the stories behind their works. Collectors encountered new voices. Introductions became conversations, conversations became connections, and somewhere between an artwork and an unexpected encounter, possibilities quietly began to take shape. This was always the dream behind Vietnam Creative Awards: not simply to recognise creativity, but to give it a place to be seen, a voice to be heard and an opportunity to connect.

The evening was made more memorable by partners who believed in this first chapter. Beautiful Spanish wines from Alfredo de la Casa of So Sexy Wines accompanied conversations through the galleries; Kaluga Queen by Caviar Royale brought exceptional caviar to the celebration; while Lady Triệu added a distinctly Vietnamese spirit through gin and crafted cocktails by talented mixologists. Together, these collaborations brought another dimension to the evening, where art met hospitality, flavour met creativity, and guests experienced the simple luxury of sharing something beautiful.

At the heart of this partnership journey is Hôtel des Arts Saigon, Diamond Sponsor and Hospitality & Venue Partner of Vietnam Creative Awards 2026. Its support reflects a shared commitment to nurturing Vietnam’s arts and creative community, creating spaces where artists can be discovered, celebrated and connected with new audiences. As the exhibition opened to the public, the galleries found another rhythm. Visitors lingered before works that spoke to them, met artists, asked questions and discovered perspectives beyond their own. Art has a remarkable ability to make such encounters possible. It asks no nationality before moving us, needs no passport and often no translation. A photograph, a brushstroke, a garment or an object can cross cultures and generations, reminding us that emotion often speaks long before words do.

Behind this first edition were months of imagination, dedication and a shared belief in what this platform could become. Bringing together so many creative voices within one historic museum was itself a journey of discovery, shaped by collaboration, trust and countless hands working towards one vision.

12 nationalities. 120 artworks. Six rooms. 176 Opening Night guests. Impressive numbers for an inaugural edition, certainly. Yet the numbers that matter most may never be counted: friendships formed, artists discovered, opportunities created, ideas exchanged and dreams encouraged. Long after the artworks leave the walls, these are the traces we hope will remain.

And this is only the Shortlist Exhibition. From these many creative voices, the Vietnam Creative Awards 2026 Finalists will emerge, carrying the story into its next chapter. From 9–11 October at Hôtel des Arts Saigon, the Finalist Exhibition will bring together selected artists and creatives whose works have progressed through the judging process, an intimate celebration of talent, vision and the individual journeys that have brought them this far.

From Shortlist to Finalist, and from discovery to recognition, the journey will culminate at the Vietnam Creative Awards Ceremony on 16 October 2026. The setting may change and the voices become fewer, but the purpose remains unchanged: to create a platform where creativity can be discovered, celebrated and connected.

Creative Voices Beyond Borders is more than an exhibition. It is a meeting of worlds, a celebration of difference and, we hope, the beginning of something beautiful, a creative conversation that continues long after the gallery doors close.
