The Soul of Saigon’s Alleyways At Hotel Indigo

Van Tu

Nestled in the heart of District 1, Hotel Indigo Saigon The City channels the vibrant energy of Saigon’s iconic hẻm (alley) culture into every detail—from evocative design and street-inspired cuisine to creative experiences that blur the line between art and hospitality. Here, the past and present of Saigon converge, offering guests an immersive journey into the city’s living, breathing spirit.

A Design That Breathes Saigon’s Story

Hotel Indigo Saigon The City is more than a place to stay—it’s a tribute to the everyday poetry of Saigon life. The design draws deeply from the city’s iconic hẻm culture, and the interiors pay homage to the legendary Ba Son Shipyard and traditional Saigonese homes. The lobby evokes a nostalgic living room, while a reimagined alleyway right next to it leads you back in time, to hidden lanes where life happens, stories begin.

Influenced by the way local dwellings evolve over generations, each of the 150 rooms and suites here features mismatched furnishings that feel curated over time, a blend of heirlooms, and unexpected charm. From mural headboards that frame a view of the alley to floral-tiled carpets capturing a vintage vibe of past Saigon, and a minibar styled like a vintage garde-manger, every element is thoughtfully placed, layered with narrative, and steeped in local identity.

Cuisine That Captures The City's Spirit

On the lobby level there’s The Shipyard, where bold flavours meet neighbourhood flair with dishes like phở wagyu in a hot stone bowl and truffle-roasted beef striploin, complemented by cocktails like the Pho-jito, and Coco Loco. Upstairs at The Shipyard Upper Deck, meals unfold against an airy, elegant backdrop. Highlights include coconut lemongrass Hokkaido scallops, roasted Gò Công duck with Hanoi plum jam, chive cake with pink pepper sauce, and the delicate Sapa peach rose jelly—a tropical-floral finish to any meal.

Where Creativity Meets Cocktail Culture

Local stories come to life at Sip & Art, a signature experience exclusive to Hotel Indigo Saigon. Inspired by nearby icons like the Ba Son Shipyard and the Central Post Office, guests create their own stamp-inspired artwork while sipping on complimentary cocktails infused with hẻm flavours such as Vietnamese Coffee Martini, Jackfruit Tropical, Dragon Mojito, and more. This workshop mingles painting and mixology in an experience as lively and layered as Saigon itself, offering a moment to slow down, get creative, and connect with the neighbourhood, with each other, and with one-self.

A Rooftop Escape Above the Buzz

The hotel’s top floor offers a fully immersive space for relaxation, featuring an outdoor pool with panoramic views of the city—where the timeless charm and modern spirit of Saigon blend in perfect harmony. Beside the pool, a sun deck invites guests to unwind with a cocktail or a refreshing drink under the tropical sun. The fitness studio, overlooking the Ba Son Bridge, provides an energizing workout environment that fosters a deep connection to the local surroundings.
