Saigon, October 16th, 2025 - Ômm Mixology hosted an exceptional evening marking the return of Shuzo Nagumo, Japan’s legendary mixologist and founder of Mixology Group. The event celebrated the artistry of Japanese tea cocktails and the dialogue between Japanese precision and Vietnamese openness - an exchange of craft, culture, and creative philosophy that unfolded through taste, sound, and atmosphere.

Recognized as a pioneer in introducing vacuum distillation and centrifugal separation to Japan’s bar scene, Shuzo has spent over two decades bridging science and emotion, transforming mixology into a refined art of storytelling through flavor. “Technique is only a foundation,” Shuzo shared during the evening. “What truly resonates is the concept - the screenplay that gives each cocktail its soul.”

The tasting menu featured three Japanese tea cocktails - Genmai & Eucalyptus Shandy, Hoji et Paradis, and Green Tea Fashioned - each expressing a different interpretation of harmony: Genmai & Eucalyptus Shandy carried a calm, earthy tone; Hoji et Paradis bridged roasted warmth and tropical sweetness; Green Tea Fashioned, made with Kyoto’s single-origin matcha, revealed depth and quiet sophistication.

Each creation reflected the three pillars that define Ômm’s philosophy: Craft - precision, process, and experimentation. Culture - heritage, reinterpretation, and depth of place. Connection - the dialogue between maker, guest, and experience.

Throughout the night, Shuzo shared his creative process - one that begins with listening to producers, exploring ingredients, and observing the balance between cultures before turning these encounters into liquid form. One highlight, Primitive, reinterprets Vietnam’s culinary DNA through herbs and chili - translating the essence of local cuisine into cocktail artistry. “Vietnam carries tremendous creative energy,” Shuzo noted. “When Japanese precision meets Vietnamese openness, new expressions are born.”

The event once again affirmed Ômm as a contemporary space where mixology exists not only as craft but as cultural discourse - a meeting point between flavor, design, and human connection. Guests experienced this dialogue not only through flavor, but through the sensory interplay of movement, sound, and visual composition. Ômm’s rotating art program continues to host contemporary Vietnamese artists, deepening the conversation between visual and liquid expression - where creativity flows from the canvas to the glass. At Ômm, cocktails are not merely served; they are crafted, curated, and conversed with - a reflection of how art and science intertwine through taste.
The Aesthetic of Ômm Mixology
Located in downtown Saigon, Ômm Mixology is an inspiring sanctuary where cocktails and art converse. Guided by Shuzo Nagumo, Ômm blends contrasts to achieve depth and balance through the fusion of ingredients, emotions, histories, and artistic impulses.

Each cocktail traces its journey from soil to glass, from origin to reinterpretation. Built on Vietnamese foundations - tea, coffee, and cacao - and refined through advanced techniques such as vacuum distillation, centrifugation, infusion, and clarification, each creation becomes a story of craft and place.
Ômm’s design reflects this philosophy: a hybrid of laboratory and gallery, where light, sound, and contemporary art invite guests into dialogue. Surrounded by visual works and thoughtful design, every sip becomes an exploration of identity and expression.
Ômm’s guiding philosophy rests on three pillars: Craft - precision and experimentation; Culture - origin and reinterpretation; Connection - human stories and sensory exchange; Ômm Mixology is where mixology becomes art and where art becomes an experience you can taste.
