Azerai, the new story and brand of resorts, has joined hands with the Department of Culture, Sports & Tourism of Binh Thuan province and the Department of Culture & Information of Ham Thuan Nam district to promote tourism in Ke Ga, an idyllic, up-and-coming destination on Vietnam’s southeast coast, and to enhance its profile on an international stage.
On 30th November 2023, a major workshop was staged in Ho Chi Minh City entitled “Introducing & Promoting the Destination of Ke Ga - Binh Thuan,” which introduced Ke Ga to the media. This event featured a panel session that discussed how to unlock the potential of Ke Ga as a tourism destination and promote sustainable development. Journalists were also able to learn about Azerai Ke Ga Bay, a stunning 57-suite retreat nestled in 4.5 hectares of gardens, just steps from a 5km-long sandy beach.
Tourism in Binh Thuan province has grown significantly in recent years, in line with rising demand for local, weekend and short-stay travel in Vietnam. With its “golden coordinates” on the sun-soaked southeast coast, just 2.5 hours’ drive from Ho Chi Minh City, with natural scenery and many local experiences and attractions, Ke Ga has the potential to become a major domestic and international visitor destination and the second “resort capital” of Binh Thuan, after Mui Ne.
To realise this potential however, there are still many steps that need to be taken to effectively position Ke Ga as an attractive option for travellers.
Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of Culture, Sports & Tourism, Binh Thuan, commented: “After 30 years of development, Binh Thuan has become one of the outstanding tourist provinces of Vietnam. Our beaches are now recognised on the world tourism map. This gives Ke Ga a strong platform to build on. Located in the Ho Chi Minh City-Vung Tau-Phan Thiet triangle, and between Long Thanh and Phan Thiet airports, Ke Ga has the potential to attract visitors not only from Ho Chi Minh City and other parts of Vietnam, but also from overseas.”
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Head of the Department of Culture & Information, Ham Thuan Nam district, added: “Ke Ga has many assets that make it an outstanding destination. It is blessed with a long beach, beautiful landscapes and cultural wonders such as Linh Son Truong Tho pagoda, Thay Thim palace, and Ke Ga lighthouse. It is also a natural paradise with hot springs, salt fields and dragon fruit gardens, as well as a unique indigenous culture. These are great conditions to attract domestic and international tourists, prolong their stay, increase spending and stimulate repeat visitation. I am confident that we can entice more people to discover the beauty of this land.”
Now welcoming guests to Ke Ga is Azerai Ke Ga Bay, Azerai’s third Vietnamese boutique property and its first beach resort. It has already made a strong impression, being named as a finalist in the “New Hotel of the Year” Awards by Destination Deluxe, and a finalist in the “Hotel Renovation & Restoration” category of Sleeper Magazine’s AHEAD Awards. Perfectly positioned just steps from the beach and sea, this elegant retreat features 57 suites, pool suites and pavilions, a restaurant, sea-facing terrace, spa, three swimming pools and a yoga and meditation area.
This makes Azerai Ke Ga Bay one of the pioneers of international standard five-star hospitality in this emerging destination, attracting a discerning clientele of affluent domestic and overseas guests to Ke Ga. Every guest experience is infused with Vietnamese culture and authentic local elements.
Mr. Julian Moore, General Manager of Azerai Ke Ga Bay, said: “Located on a beautiful beach and only minutes from the oldest lighthouse in Vietnam, Azerai Ke Ga Bay is not only an ideal destination for relaxing beachside vacations; it also creates an opportunity for visitors to explore the timeless heritage of local life in this fishing village community. We will continue to join hands with local authorities and all public and private sector partners to promote sustainable development in Ke Ga. We look forward to making this a ‘must-visit’ option for domestic and international tourists alike.”
