Resilience Meets Creativity: An Inclusive Painting Exhibition At Kappa Senses Ubud

By Dimas Ponco

Art has always been known as a boundless medium to channel expressions and the essence of one’s experience. Supporting the notion for artists with disabilities, Kappa Senses Ubud is set to host a painting exhibition from 15 July to 16 August 2024. The event will be held in collaboration with local organisations, the Cahaya Mutiara Ubud Foundation and the Bhakti Senang Hati Foundation.

Driven by its commitment to care for communities, the luxury brand’s corporate social responsibility program extends significant support to exceptional artists. These artists’ creations serve as powerful testaments to resilience, showcasing how art can be a transformative force for people with disabilities.

The Bhakti Senang Hati Foundation, established in 2014, empowers people with disabilities through technical assistance for physical independence, social integration, and skill development. Their focus on fostering confidence through assertiveness training and practical skills like painting, sewing, and woodwork opens doors to self-sufficiency and a fulfilling social life.

Partnering with them is the Cahaya Mutiara Ubud Foundation, an organisation established and run by people with disabilities. Their mission to build self-reliance and inspire confidence resonates deeply with Kappa Senses Ubud. Together, the resort and the foundations will showcase the artistic talents of the artists who inspire people to see the world through a lens filled with empathy and understanding.

During the painting exhibition at Kappa Senses Ubud, visitors can purchase the art to show support for the artists and the foundations. Otherwise, at the same period, the resort’s Kokokan Restaurant runs a delightful set dinner menu dubbed ‘Kokokan Dinner with Purpose.’

Head to the restaurant for a four-course dinner meticulously crafted by the executive chef and the culinary team. Picture dishes made of the freshest seafood, complemented with a melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu featuring a savoury puff. Asparagus, earthy shimeji mushroom, creamy spinach potato puree, and truffle cream are followed with the decadent finale in the form of a chocolate sphere. The sweet, chocolatey ending bursts with raspberry jelly, vanilla and anise whip, crumble, and passion fruit sorbet.

The purposeful dinner is priced at Rp850,000/person. As part of the initiatives, 20% of the proceeds of every dinner’s price will be consistently donated to a charitable cause supported by Kappa Senses Ubud.
