From local delicacies to international flavours, these festive feasts are set to make your Hari Raya celebration really epic.
Looking for a place to indulge this long weekend? Here are some popular restaurants to book for your Ramadan celebration this year.
Peppermint
Tuck into authentic Peranakan dishes at Peppermint this Ramadan. This year, the all-you-can-eat restaurant welcomes a collaboration between chef de cuisine Leon Yee, and chef-owner Beh Gaik Lean of one-Michelin-starred Auntie Gaik Lean’s Old School Eatery in Penang, Malaysia.
Expect the likes of heritage dishes like egg belanda (eggs in a tangy tamarind sauce) and kerabu kacang botol (four-angled bean salad) from Chef Gaik Lean. Chef Leon on the other hand will rustle up recipes passed down from his great grandmother. Look forward to the crowd-favourite wok-fried seafood laksa and the hearty black angus beef oxtail pongteh (beef oxtail stewed with fermented soybean paste). Complimentary iced bandung and pandan iced tea will also be served, perfect for refreshing yourself in between bites.
The buffet is available from now till 30 April. Weekday lunch is $68 and dinner at $98, and weekend lunch is priced at $78 and dinner at $108.
21 on Rajah
21 on Rajah’s generous spread this Hari Raya features a smorgasbord of Asian classics and Mediterranean dishes. Whether that’s fresh, succulent slices of salmon sashimi, char-grilled satay, slow-cooked roasted lamb leg with saffron basmati rice, or lamb moussaka and even Moroccan chicken rabat tagine, you’ll certainly be spoilt for choice.
And if you’d like to enjoy 21 on Rajah’s feast from the comfort of your home (from now till 21 April), the restaurant’s Communal Set Menus ($140, ideal for four persons) offer a choice between a Mediterranean feast or a local feast. The former offers dishes like Moroccan braised lamb shank with chickpeas and dates and classic Middle Eastern sweet treats like baklava. The latter includes creations like the indulgent slipper lobster in mala-style sauce and prawns with petai in chinchalok sauce.
The buffet is available from now till 23 April. The halal-certified restaurant’s weekday Ramadan festive dinner buffet is priced at $62. Their weekend Hari Raya brunch buffet is $62, while weekend dinner buffet is $72.
Atrium Restaurant
BBQ lovers can head to Holiday Atrium for the BBQ-centric Iftar buffet feast at Atrium Restaurant. This year, the restaurant is turning up the heat with an array of grilled delights from freshly grilled fish to sambal squid. There’s even a carving station serving everything from juicy lamb chops to lamb leg and turkey breast.
The star of the show however has to be the whole spice roast baby lamb. Available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for dinner only, this tender protein comes complete with pita bread, and a spread of sauces from sambal belacan to spicy kicap manis and a cooling yoghurt dip. Tuck into other traditional Malay dishes like gado-gado, mutton rendang, and ikan assam pedas.
Available from now till 1 May. The lunch is priced at $45 on weekdays and $47 on weekends, while dinner is at $55 from Thursdays to Sundays, and $64 on Fridays and Saturdays.
