Bali will never have to worry when it comes to gastronomic experience as more upcoming young chefs are emerging to the island’s culinary scene. To celebrate these young prodigies, Apéritif Restaurant and Bar is set to introduce six extraordinary chefs in a collaboration named “Bali’s Rising Star” as part of Ubud Food Festival 2023 special events.
The unmissable three-day long weekend event in Ubud comes back this year, dedicated to letting people savour abundant delights through various events. Granted to host one of the special events at Ubud Food Festival 2023, Apéritif will orchestrate a seven-course menu of flavourful creations from the chefs, reflecting vibrant Indonesian cuisine with a modern twist.
Boasting the luxury of the bygone European era in its interior, dining at Apéritif is as enchanting as it is unique. Despite its fame for serving global cuisine, the restaurant is as apt as ever to house local style fares, highlighting each chef’s finesse.
Apéritif’s head chef, Arvin Tjandra and Apéritif’s pastry chef, Dayu Chinthya Dewi, will lead the team of young chefs in fashioning a collaborative dinner. Alongside them, four other young culinary mavens will be gracing the diners with their crafts, namely Ryan Thejasukmana of Lulu Bistrot, Rajana Hariyono of Rempah Dining, Fernando Tendean of Club Soda Canggu, and Vallian Gunawan of SKOOL Kitchen.
Guests will begin their evening with nibbles comprising Smoked Murotsu Bay Oyster, Crab Pie Tee, Tomato Tartlet, Charred Eggplant, Chicken Sandwich, and more, courtesy of the respective venues the chefs represent.
After that, a mouthwatering Fish Crudo - the first menu out of a seven-course menu will be served, followed by Sichuan-style cold spicy noodles, octopus with green curry by Apéritif, pearl lobster with lemongrass nage, and a succulent serving of duck with master stock espagnole. The last two courses will let you end the evening on a sweet note with Pandan Colada and Pisang Aroma.
It would be a shame if such delectables were not complemented by craft concoctions to sip. Thus, Apéritif also invites the island’s eminent mixologists from KAWI, Black Project, SKOOL Kitchen, Shady Fox, and Night Rooster. Expect various innovative and bespoke cocktail pairings for you to sip while savouring the delightful fares.
Bali’s Rising Star dinner event at Apéritif Restaurant and Bar will be held on 30 June 2023— the first day of Ubud Food Festival 2023 with a rate of Rp1,400,000/person. Combine the feast with three cocktail pairings, priced at Rp480,000/person. The dinner starts from 5.30pm – 10.30pm. Booking is recommended.
